Stephen King Movie & TV Adaptations Timeline

Stephen King Timeline

If you're in the mood for a Stephen King marathon, we have created a timeline of cinema & TV productions based on the author’s work to help you get started.

As there are probably more adaptations of the writer’s stories than one could see in a lifetime, the Stephen King Timeline illustrates only some of the more well-known feature films and TV series, whether critically acclaimed or not. Released in 2007, The Mist is considered as one of the most underrated King adaptations. Almost ignored after its initial release and criticized for bad acting and special effects, the movie has managed to gather a cult following over the years, mostly because of the strong drama, the constant tension throughout, and the petrifying ending.

The Stephen King chronology was created with Office Timeline, a fast and simple tool that allows users to easily build Gantt charts, timelines and other visuals straight inside PowerPoint. The image is free to copy, modify and reproduce for personal or public use and can be easily updated using the Plus version of the plug-in.

Google History Timeline

Google History Timeline

Google’s always been a little unconventional in everything they did, and their birthday is no exception. The company has celebrated its anniversary on 4 different dates over the years, the latest official date being 9/27. To explain these inconsistencies, Google stated that the exact birthdate has been moved around depending on when people felt like having cake.

Quite surprisingly, Google has yet to create a celebratory doodle for September 4, the date the company was officially founded. Since we like cake, we have built a timeline to fill that gap and wish them a happy anniversary.

The Google Timeline marks some of the major milestones in the history of the Internet giant, including, among others, the day the domain google.com was registered, the date when Larry Page and Sergey Brin filed for incorporation, or the launch of Chrome. August 30, 1998, marks the date the first Google Doodle was published. The doodle wasn’t meant to celebrate or commemorate anything, but rather served as a funny out-of-office message to let people know that the founders were at the Burning Man festival.

The Google chronology was designed in PowerPoint using Office Timeline, a simple add-in that allows users to quickly create eye-catching timelines, Gantt charts and other similar graphics. To edit the visual or build your own, we recommend using the Plus version of the add-in, which unlocks a large range of customization options and time-saving features.

Netflix History Timeline

Netflix History Timeline

Founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in 1997, Netflix marks its 20th anniversary this year, on August 29. With over 100 million members, over 125 million hours of movies and TV shows watched per day worldwide, and an annual revenue of $8.8 billion, the media-streaming giant has gone through a whirlwind of changes since its launch as a DVD-by-email service. To celebrate the friend who would never scold us for sitting on the couch all day, let’s take a look at the company’s evolution and achievements throughout the years.

The Netflix Timeline illustrates some of the important events and milestones in the history of the entertainment company, from its founding, the launch of the website, and the introduction of streaming, to the service’s expansion in Europe and the release of the much-awaited offline viewing system. On September 10, 2014, Netflix, along with many other web giants, participated in the “Internet Slowdown Day” protest, part of the Battle for the Net initiative. The protest consisted in a symbolic slowdown of the participants’ websites to remind people what the World Wide Web would look like without net neutrality.

The Netflix chronology was designed using Office Timeline, a PowerPoint add-in that enables users to quickly turn a series of events, plans or schedules into beautiful visuals. The free version of the software is recommended for users who need to create simple timelines fast, while the Plus edition unlocks a wide range of customization options and productivity features, ideal for building professional graphics for business communications.

Great American Eclipse Timeline

Great American Eclipse Timeline

Today, August 21, 2017, the contiguous United States will witness a total solar eclipse for the first time since February 1979. The rare event has been dubbed “The Great American Eclipse” and can only be seen from North America. Although the partial eclipse will be visible from the whole continental US, only the states along the path of totality will be able to admire the moon blocking the sun completely. The path of totality will stretch on a thin band from Lincoln Beach, OR, to Charleston, SC, passing through portions of 14 states. To ensure you don’t miss the rare celestial spectacle, we have created a timeline of the event.

The Great American Eclipse Timeline illustrates the maximum eclipse times for some of the major towns and cities where the phenomenon will be best viewed. All times are displayed in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). While the eclipse will first “touch” the continent at Lincoln Beach, OR, one of the best places in Oregon to watch it is considered to be Salem, where the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry organizes a viewing party at the State Fairgrounds. The sun will be completely obscured here at 17:18 UTC (10:18 am PDT).

The Great American Eclipse chronology was created with the help of Office Timeline, a PowerPoint plug-in that allows users to build visual schedules, plans, Gantt charts and other graphics for business or academic presentations. To edit the timeline or create similar visuals fast, we recommend the Plus Edition of the add-in, which unlocks a vast range of customization options and powerful time-saving features.

Blizzard Games Timeline

Updated on 25 May 2020

History of the company

Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. is among of the most prolific and resilient developers in the gaming industry. Its history begins in February 1991 when Michael Morhaime along with Allen Adham and Frank Pearce laid the foundation of the company, which was then called Silicon & Synapse.

This name would be changed to Chaos Studios in 1993, because Adham was displeased with people associating its meaning with breast implants rather than the chemical element that made computer chips possible. As the story goes, Allen Adham took up a dictionary and started jotting down words of interest, then cleared them with the legal team for potential copyright issues. ‘Blizzard’ was the first one that really stuck, and Chaos Studios rebranded themselves by May 1994.

Throughout their journey, Blizzard Entertainment has known both tremendous, world-changing achievements, controversies and borderline financial ruin, but has always managed to come up on top. In 2010, they reached a major milestone in the online gaming industry with 12 million active monthly subscription to their highly popular MMORPG, World of Warcraft. However, they were on a descending path and that number plummeted to 6.8 million by 2014. Nonetheless, they still hold a Guinness World Record of popularity among MMORPGS, according to the number of subscribers.

Beloved titles like Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo have forged enduring franchises that aged well and are still loads of fun to play today. The launch of Overwatch – Blizzard’s 4th ranking primary intellectual property – in 2016 was also a major success for the developer and became the highest selling game for PC on the same year. Genre wise, they continue to cater to a diverse crowd, regularly updating and maintaining free-to-play card battle game Hearthstone and the MOBA Heroes of the Storm, one of DOTA 2’s main competitors.

To celebrate their achievements, we have created the Blizzard Games chronology using Office Timeline, our extremely versatile and easy to use PowerPoint add-in. Splitting the major release milestones according to their franchise was made possible by swimlanes, a feature available in the Pro Edition but also in the free version (with limitations). You can download the timeline free of charge, as either a fully customizable PowerPoint file or a static image complete with the Blizzard fonts. Happy gaming!
