Tesla Inc. Timeline

Over a year ago, Elon Musk shook the auto industry by announcing the Tesla Model 3, a more affordable all-electric sedan that would rival best-selling luxury cars. Today is the official launch of the long-awaited vehicle, and Tesla is handing over the keys to the first 30 lucky owners. Model 3 is set to become the automaker’s first mass produced electric vehicle and, if successful, it will turn Tesla Inc. from a boutique car brand into a major manufacturer. While the first 3s make their way to their owners, let’s plug into the history of the company and see how it got where it is.

Tesla Timeline

The Tesla Inc. Timeline marks major milestones and accomplishments in the history of the manufacturer, including company-related events and product releases. While everybody associates Tesla with Elon Musk, the company wasn’t founded by him, but by engineers Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, who financed the startup until the series A funding. Musk led Tesla’s first financing round in 2004 and joined the Board of Directors as Chairman. Due to his critical investments and involvement in the company, Elon Musk is officially considered as a co-founder.

The Tesla Inc. chronology was built in PowerPoint using the Office Timeline plug-in and is free to copy for private or public use. Robin Williams Timeline: 1951 - 2014

Known for his remarkable improvisation skills and legendary comedic talent, Robin Williams was one of the most beloved performers of his time and one of the very few who could make you laugh hysterically one moment and cry the next. Voted in high school as “the least likely to succeed”, Robin would grow up to win five Grammys, one Academy award and two Emmys. He played numerous memorable film roles, both comedic and dramatic – and all one-of-a-kind.

Today, July 21, 2017, the famed comedian would have turned 66 years old. To honor the memory of the man who made the whole world laugh, let’s take a look back at his life and achievements.

Robin Williams Timeline

The Robin Williams Timeline marks key moments in the actor’s life and career, including his first major performances, popular movies, and his debut on Broadway. One of the comedian’s most fondly remembered performances is the role of the flamboyant genie in Aladdin. Although a script was – obviously – available, Robin Williams improvised most of the character, which resulted in Aladdin being rejected by the Academy for the “Best Adapted Screenplay” category.

The Robin Williams chronology was created with the help of Office Timeline, an add-in for PowerPoint that allows users to generate timelines, Gantt charts and other visuals fast and easily. New Horizons Timeline: Journey to Pluto and Beyond

Two years ago, on July 14, 2015, NASA’s New Horizons made headlines all around the world as it became the first space probe to explore Pluto up close – more precisely, it flew 7,800 miles (12,500 km) above the surface of the planet. While the fearless spacecraft has traveled more distance and time than any other space mission in history – over 3 billion miles in more than 9 years - its work didn’t stop with the flyby of Pluto. With its mission officially extended in 2016, the probe is on its way to its next target: MU69, a mysterious Kuiper Belt Object that’s already baffling scientists. To celebrate New Horizons’ achievements and wish it good luck for the adventure ahead, we have created a timeline of its journey to Pluto and beyond.

The New Horizons Timeline illustrates the spacecraft’s expedition to Pluto from its launch to the close encounter with the planet, while also including a few details regarding the extended mission to MU69. After flying by Jupiter for gravity assist, the probe spent most of its voyage in hibernation in order to reduce wear and tear. During this long sleep, the spacecraft did wake up for a few weeks a year to have its systems checked and instruments calibrated. Not only did hibernation preserve the probe’s onboard systems, but it also freed up NASA’s communication and tracking resources for other missions.

The New Horizons chronology was created with Office Timeline, an intuitive PowerPoint add-in that allows users to create impressive timelines, Gantt charts and other visuals for academic or business presentations. While the free edition of the app is fully functional and can be used to build simple PowerPoint visuals fast, the Plus version unlocks powerful features that enable users to build stunning, uniquely-customized graphics in just a few minutes.

Amazon History Timeline

Amazon history timeline

DOWNLOAD POWERPOINT SLIDE

Amazon’s history is most certainly wild and chock-full of controversy. Nonetheless, at its core, it’s one of the most famous business success stories about how perseverance against all odds and staying on the critical path is the only way to transform vision into reality. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, started the venture as an online book retailer on July 5, 1994, but the business has expanded over the years to sell almost anything one can think of and is now one of the most valuable companies in the world.

The name wasn’t Bezos’ first or even second choice – “Relentless” and “Cadabra” represented his top two options. He eventually took a shine to “Amazon” not only because of the exotic allure, but also because it’s the largest and longest river in the world, and that would fit really well with his grand vision for the store. If you’re curious, check out our Jeff Bezos timeline for more insights into the life of the man behind it all.

They broke ground within the first couple of months, with sales exceeding $20,000 per week. By 1997, Amazon was already claiming to be the largest bookstore in the world, which prompted Barnes & Noble to sue for false allegations. One year later, Walmart sued Amazon for stealing trade secrets by employing former execs from the retail giant. Both were settled out of court and Amazon weathered the storm.

Amazon starts exploring new growth areas and, in 2005, ventures into the realm of cloud computing services with AWS, and crowdsourcing with Mechanical Turk. Although they’re relatively new to the game, the company quickly becomes a dominant player in the field of cloud computers. Currently, an extensive amount of the Internet infrastructure belongs to them.

With the Kindle launch in 2007, it takes just 3 years for e-books to outsell hardbacks, a record milestone Amazon proudly announces in July 2010. Perhaps as a tribute to the original driving engine of the business, five years later Amazon inaugurates its very first brick and mortar bookstore in Seattle. 2015 is also the year that marks the launch of Underground, a platform that connects gamers with app creators and offers the latter a feasible way to monetize their software based on the time a user spends in it.

The year 2016 brings cyberpunk movies one step closer to reality with the introduction of Amazon Prime Air, which successfully completes its very first drone delivery on December 14. On the same note, the company’s vision to completely shift the shopping paradigm is furthered in 2018, with the launch of a no-cashier grocery store.

In 2019, Amazon settles on the location for their second headquarters, named simply HQ2: Northern Virginia. No major milestones were broken this year. Well, if we don’t count the $11.6 billion in profit and $280 billion in revenue. We’re still waiting to see how 2020 pans out but given the staggering number of 150 million customers with Amazon Prime, we’re not worried.

The Amazon history timeline was created with the Office Timeline add-in for PowerPoint, a robust and easy to use timeline maker, and you can download the .PPTX slide free of charge. Marvel Cinematic Universe Timeline

Updated on October 9, 2019

Featuring an incredibly complex story arc, the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) officially spans 23 movies and 11 television series at this point, not counting the ones that aren't directly tied into the narrative. The films are included in what Marvel refers to as the "Infinity Saga", because the action revolves around the discovery and use of six artifacts of immense power, dubbed the Infinity Stones.

The MCU Infinity Saga

Created at the time of the Big Bang, the Mind, Space, Time, Reality, Power and Soul stones hold the key to reshaping existence at whim, so it's no surprise that both the protagonists and the villains will put up a ferocious fight to obtain them.

These singularity-born magical gems seem to have a mind of their own and love to change proprietors. Our heroes will almost never find themselves in the stones' possession until the stones themselves decide the time is right.

Although the Infinity Saga reaches a conclusion with the events from Avengers: Endgame, it paves the way for a new generation of heroes, and the MCU keeps the ball rolling with Spiderman: Far from Home.

How to watch the Marvel movies in order

With all the actual time-traveling and the flashbacks in the MCU, it's no wonder that even the die-hard fans of the saga are sometimes confused regarding the actual order of the developments, and disagreements abound. In all fairness, even Doctor Strange wielding the Time Stone would have a hard time keeping up! What's more, the narratives of movies and television series are concurrent.

To clear things a bit, we focused on the cinema where the chronology of events is better mapped out:

Marvel Cinematic Universe Timeline

Bonus: How to watch the Marvel TV series in order

Nonetheless, as the series is an equally integral part of the Marvel narrative, we added a timeline that attempts to put the series released in order too, as a bonus:

Marvel Cinematic Universe Timeline TV shows

It's worth noting that showrunners are also pro separating the two environments. This approach allows the series to break free from the shadow of their big brothers and grow independently.

Our goal is to touch on the major, canon releases without delving outside of the established franchise. We are doing our best to keep the timeline fresh and up to speed with all major releases.

Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline explained (may contain spoilers!)

1.    Chronological viewing order

There are definitely some inconsistencies between the events in the movies and the TV series. It is only natural, if you consider that multiple teams of writers work on the storylines simultaneously, often without knowing exactly what the 'endgame' is.

However, we believe that it's easier to wrap your head around the narrative if you watch these productions chronologically, rather than by the release dates. A word to the wise, fully immersing yourself in the MCU will require time, dedication and some essential knowledge of the main characters. If Thanos' quest for the Soul Stone taught us anything, it’s that nothing of importance can be achieved without sacrifice.

Those who are relatively new to the adventures of Marvel heroes and villains might have an easier time following the TV series in accordance with their airing dates, and definitely start with the movies first.

2.    Cloak & Dagger

The first season of this show received praise for the tie-ins with the MCU and maintaining the continuity. Numerous references to the corrupt corporation Roxxon can be found in other series like Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Daredevil, but also in movies like Iron Man 2 & 3.

While it doesn't really sync up with the events of the Avengers timeline, avid fans with a keen eye will notice subtle nudges and hints that make Cloak & Dagger feel part of Marvel's narrative. We know the action is set against the backdrop of modern-day New Orleans, but not a lot about the actual timeframe.

A couple of hints come in the form of passing mentions about Luke Cage and the competition between Roxxon and Stark Enterprises, but there's also time travel thrown in the mix, so it's difficult to tell for sure when it takes place. You'll also notice that the exploits in Infinity War and Endgame are not brought up at all. The 3rd season is set to drop later this year and rumors have it that it will feature a cross-over with Runaways, further tightening the mesh of Marvel's universe.

3.    Spider-Man: Homecoming

Chronological ambiguity is not limited to the series, and one example in this sense comes from Spider-Man: Homecoming. A briefly showed title card reveals that the creators placed the events of the movie in 2020, by referencing the fact that Avengers timeline happened eight years before. We can estimate this date by quoting an infographic released by Marvel, which tells us the epic battle against the Chitahuri that devastates New York took place back in 2012.

But, here's the kicker: Captain America: Civil War is set in 2016 and we also have to keep in mind that there should only be a few months in between it and Homecoming. To further add to the confusion, another mention made by Vision in Civil War changes the date of the first Iron Man timeline to 2008 when originally it was 2011. Now, Marvel did try to mend slip-up in Infinity War by reestablishing the fact that Avengers is set in 2012 and Infinity War in 2018, although now it's not 100% sure where Homecoming fits.

4.    Avengers: Endgame

To celebrate 11 years since the first Marvel film hit the cinemas, Endgame is an opportunity to revisit the key points in the history of the Avengers through the introduction of time travel. In addition to that, the movie steers away from the tried-and-tested comic book influences and is packed to the brim with clever references to its predecessor.

We find both touching moments like Tony Stark mirroring one of the definitive moments of the MCU when he announces his identity to the world, but also playful ones, such as Morgan Stark's inheriting her father's love of cheeseburgers. Thanks to all of these carefully crafted details, the movie is not only a resounding box office hit, but it also sets the bar pretty high for the superhero genre. A story about sacrifice and perseverance against all odds, Avengers: Endgame is the final chapter in the Infinity Saga, but the MCU lives on.

5.    Spider-Man: Far from Home

Written in a much lighter tone than Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home reasserts Marvel's intention to keep the MCU moving forward, even if most of the heroes have passed or chose to retire. This installment of Spider-Man's adventures finds Peter Parker navigating the treacherous waters of teenage life while simultaneously learning what being a superhero is all about, without the guiding hand of his friend and mentor, Tony Stark.

Thankfully for Spidey, the father role is taken over by Nick Fury, who's even less pleased with the youngster's antics than Tony. The plot also thickens when a post-credits scene reveals the Earth versions of Maria Hill and Nick Fury aren't who we thought they were, and a sequel for it is already in the works. Rumors have it that it will hit cinemas in 2021!

6.    Under development

A number of other Marvel movies have been announced for 2020 and 2021, such as Thor: Love and Thunder, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse Madness, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Eternals, Black Widow, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, Black Panther 2 and the untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far from Home.

It is, however, too early to tell where exactly these will fit in the MCU chronology at this point. Once these are released in cinemas, we will do our best to update them here as well.
